Your Favorite Artist's Favorite Playlists (Updated 3.20.20)
What’s up, y’all!
Today, I’m sharing some uplifting content in place of the current news cycle about you know what.
While we watch more schools, businesses, and venues close their doors, let’s remember to get back to our roots. Spend time with family, prioritize self-care, and of course, kick back with some music playing!
If you are an artist or label, curated playlists can provide an additional way to engage with your fans. Keep adding or continually updating one specific list pinned to your profile. You share your collective talent, unique taste, and influences while we discover.
Below, I’ve curated enough hours of music to get us through ensuing weeks of social distancing.
The Playlists:
real good shit - close to 100 hours of music from Tom Misch. The list has an email submission linked and his team sometimes sells merch building off the playlist name. As a result, the playlist has 94k followers.
Disclosure’s Record Bag - nearly 40 hours of music, updated every Friday by the music duo themselves.
Now Again - Egon’s Collection - 30+ hours of music from Stones Throw Records GM and A&R, who’s evidently a professional crate digger. You can find more picks from Now Again Records here.
OVO Sound - a collection of music from Drake & 40’s label.
Women’s History: A Vibe - SZA’s women’s history month collection.
Chelsea Cutler’s what i’m bumpin - a 50 song playlist rotation updated frequently.
Polyvinyl Picks from Polyvinyl Records own catalog, a short list marketing PV’s talent.
Charlotte Day Wilson’s Haze
Durante Selects from Durante with new songs added every Monday.
FKJ’s New Tunes, Old Tunes and Flame Tunes from Friends
Travis Scott’s Song’s That Made Me Dream
Lil Yachty’s Music That Raised Me, listed by Complex.
Frank Ocean’s Blonded, branching off his album & social media name.
Snoh Aalegra’s personal list building off her full-length album names Feels and Ugh, those feels again.
Giveon’s playlist shares the same name as his top single and has music in the same pocket.
Resident Advisor’s new, regularly updated playlist for Home Listening during this new age of social distancing.
Have a healthy & happy weekend!
